Dr. Barry S. Goldberg
Dr. Barry S. Goldberg has been practicing Dermatology in Danbury, CT since 1978. He is a graduate of McGill University Medical School in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Goldberg did his residency at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver, Colorado both in Pediatrics and Dermatology. He is on the Danbury Hospital staff in both the Department of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics.
Dr. Goldberg’s training and board certification in Dermatology and Pediatrics have contributed to his special expertise in the skin diseases of children as well as adults. His expertise also includes the latest technology for skin cancer detection and treatment. He has extensive experience in cosmetic procedures, including sclerotherapy for leg veins, BOTOX®, Juvederm and other cutting edge dermal filler injections, chemical peels and the latest advances in photorejuvenation. Dr. Goldberg is currently on the teaching staff at Yale University School of Medicine in the Department of Dermatology and at Danbury Hospital.
Dr. Grace L. Federman
Dr. Grace Liang Federman has been practicing dermatology in Danbury, CT since 1993. She is a graduate of New York University School of Medicine where she was initiated in Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She completed dual residencies in internal medicine and dermatology at the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, FL. Dr. Federman is currently on the teaching staff of Danbury Hospital.
Dr. Federman has expertise in numerous cosmetic procedures such as sclerotherapy for leg veins, Botox injections, and injections of fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane. She also has extensive experience in the use of multiple lasers including the Pulsed-Dye laser for vascular lesions and Nd-Yag laser to treat pigment abnormalities. Because she is board certified in both dermatology and internal medicine, Dr. Federman maintains an interest in dermatologic manifestations of internal diseases, as well as women’s health issues and psoriasis. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and is a member of the American Society for Laser Surgery and Medicine. She has been named among the “Top Docs” in Connecticut magazine.
Dr. Jonathan R. Zirn
Dr. Jonathan R. Zirn is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical School. After finishing his internship in Internal Medicine at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, he went on to complete dual residencies in Anatomic/Clinical Pathology and Dermatology, also at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. He completed his training by performing a Fellowship in Dermatopathology at the New York University Medical Center.
Dr. Zirn continues to teach Dermatopathology at the Yale University Medical Center in New Haven, CT. Dr. Zirn is one of the few nationwide dermatologists who is triple-Boarded in Dermatology, Pathology, and Dermatopathology. Because of his unique background, he possesses a particular expertise in the management of both inflammatory disorders of the skin and skin cancer. Dr. Zirn maintains an appointment as a Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at Yale University School of Medicine.
Dr. Michael Jacobson
Dr. Michael Jacobson graduated from the University of Pennsylvania before he earned his medical degree summa cum laude from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Dr. Jacobson completed dermatology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and is a board certified dermatologist. After practicing for several years, Dr. Jacobson completed an additional rigorous one-year fellowship in Procedural Dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery at SUNY Downstate. He is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
Dr. Jacobson’s clinical interests and expertise include the diagnosis and management of skin cancer. Dr. Jacobson prides himself in making sure that patients understand thoroughly their skin cancer diagnosis, treatment options, and prognosis. He strongly believes the time spent with each individual patient creates a trusting and healthy doctor-patient relationship.
Academically, Dr. Jacobson has authored scientific articles and book chapters. In addition, he has lectured on and taught surgical techniques to dermatology residents.
Dr. Graeme M. Lipper
Dr. Graeme M. Lipper is a graduate of the Harvard Medical School. After completing a medical internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, he did his Residency in Dermatology at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts where he served as Chief Resident. In addition, Dr. Lipper completed fellowship training in laser and cosmetic surgery at the Wellman Laboratory of Photomedicine and Massachusetts General Hospital, and has researched laser treatments including new therapies for acne scarring. Dr. Lipper is currently on the teaching staff at Danbury Hospital and the University of Vermont Medical School. In addition, he has been named a 2012 “Top Doctor” in the U.S. News & World Report and writes for WebMD/Medscape Dermatology, where he is currently serving on the Physician Advisory Board.
Dr. Lipper’s areas of interest include general adult and pediatric dermatology, laser and phototherapy, and cosmetic dermatology. He specializes in cosmetic treatments including Botox, dermal fillers such as Juvederm, sclerotherapy, and the treatment of acne scarring. He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Mona A. Gohara
Dr. Mona A. Gohara graduated from the Medical College of Ohio, where she was initiated in to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. After completing a medical internship at New York University Medical Center, she completed her Residency in Dermatology at Yale University, where she served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Gohara’s areas of interest include medical and procedural dermatology for both children and adults. She is particularly interested in raising public awareness about skin cancer and sun protection. As an expert in this topic, she has lectured nationally, and has appeared in magazines such as “Good Housekeeping”, “Redbook”, “Real Simple”, “Essence”, “Fitness”, “Glamour” and “Cosmopolitan”. She serves as the co-chair of the Women’s Dermatologic Society Service Committee, and is on the Fitness magazine Advisory Board.
Dr Gohara is a fellow of American Academy of Dermatology, a member of the Skin Of Color Society, and a medical content reviewer for the Skin Cancer Foundation.
Dr. Gohara is board certified, and maintains a clinical faculty position at Yale New Haven Hospital where she sees patients and teaches residents.
Dr. Marcus A. McFerren
Marcus A. McFerren, MD, PhD is a Board Certified Dermatologist and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is a graduate of the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and the Cornell University Department of Plant Biology where he received the PhD degree. Dr. McFerren completed his Residency in Dermatology at the Yale University School of Medicine and his training in Internal Medicine at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. McFerren has held faculty appointments at the Cornell Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine, Swarthmore College, and is currently on the teaching staff at Danbury Hospital. Due to his unique expertise in both botany and dermatology he is a frequent national and international lecturer on the beneficial and injurious effects of plants and plant products on the skin. For these contributions, he received the 2011 Elle Magazine Genius award.
Dr. McFerren’s special clinical interests are medical and procedural dermatology; nail disease and surgery; cosmetic botox and dermal fillers; unique presentations of disease in ethnic skin; and the use of alternative and complementary/botanical therapies.
Michael S. Thibault, PA-C
Mr. Thibault is certified by the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and is a member of the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants. Mr. Thibault received his undergraduate degree from Trinity College in Hartford, CT. He then received his Masters of Science and completed the Physician Assistant Program at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT.
Mr. Thibault is experienced in allergic contact dermatitis and patch testing, photodynamic therapy, and excimer (Xtrac) laser.
